EPnet Cashless. The flexible cashless payment solution from Quintus Systems.

EPnet is an advanced cashless payment system for EPoS and vending that operates on same principle as an electronic purse. Cash is deposited into a user account and accessed by smart cards, proximity cards, contactless tags or biometric recognition. It may be run in credit or debit modes. In the workplace, it can be used to integrate catering and vending with security access using a single cashless payment device. Credit payments may be made by payroll deduction, web loading or cash loader. EPnet Cashless is also fully compatible with salary sacrifice.

In the hospitality market, Quintus operates a patented cashless electronic bar called
Max-eBar™
, which integrates vending with the hotel's PMS system using the room key as payment card. EPnet is also used in hotels to allow guests to charge transactions in bars and restaurants to the room bill.

Quintus Systems

Quintus Systems was established in 1995 and is a pioneer in online cashless payment systems. It is an independently owned, private limited company with all the benefits that brings of flexibility, reliability and stability. Many key personnel have been with the Company since its formation 13 years ago.

Our branded software, EPnet, is able to integrate foodservice seamlessly within your business, eradicating or reducing the need for cash in your business and linking to your existing security system so staff use one access device for door access and food purchases. In hotels a variant of the EPnet system, Max-eBar, enables hotel guests to use their room key to make convenience purchases.

The software is developed in-house and our experienced service engineers are fully involved in the day to day innovations and improvements to our system meaning that they are totally familiar with the way EPnet works. We combine cutting edge software with top end branded equipment that is manufactured to our exact requirements.

Our service starts with a comprehensive site visit to assess client's requirements and to offer advice on operational details and to recommend ways to streamline the client's business and maximise profitability. Following acceptance of a detailed quotation, we install and commission the system, fully training staff in its use.

Today, many Quintus clients are world renowned 'blue chip' companies.

EPnet cashless in the workplace
EPnet Cashless. The leading cashless payment system. EPnet Cashless from Quintus is an advanced online cashless payment system. It operates in a similar manner to credit and debit cards, like bank cards or Oyster cards. It links to an electronic purse using a variety of different access devices such as smart cards, proximity cards, contactless tags or by biometric recognition. Unlike Oyster, however, no cash is ever held on cards. That makes EPnet Cashless far more secure. If your access device is lost or stolen, no money is at risk and the access device is easily replaced without losing any credit. EPnet Cashless integrates with your existing access technology and there is minimal disturbance to your business during installation. Since EPnet Cashless is an online system, all transactions take place in ‘real time'. It lays a full audit trail and amasses valuable management information for senior management.

More and more companies are realising the benefits of cashless payment in their business to pay for catering and vending services. In many cases, buildings can become totally cashless with payment for meals and snacks being made from the EPnet electronic purse. Employees simply pay money in at a cash loader to credit their electronic purse. Alternatively, transactions may be paid for weekly or monthly out of salary by means of payroll deduction. Salary sacrifice is becoming more popular in the workplace, providing both employer and employee with benefits and EPnet Cashless is ideal for running such a scheme.

Introducing EPnet Cashless will not disrupt the smooth running of your business. Nor does it mean having two access devices. Regardless of brand, EPnet cashless will work with your existing access device, be it smart cards, proximity cards, contactless tag or biometric recognition. EPnet cashless does not co-habit with security, it shares information with it only in order to recognise an individual employee’s electronic purse.

For the employee it could not be simpler. Using the chosen access device, it may be used to make purchases from vending machines, staff restaurant or staff shop in very much the same way as it may already be in use for car park access, door security or to pay for equipment use.

Max-eBar in hotels
Hoteliers will recognise the added value opportunities offered by selling alcohol and other convenience products through an in-room bar. They will also be all too familiar with the drawbacks, such as high capital investment and pilferage. Now, Max-eBar offers a low investment, totally secure way to sell alcohol and sundries to guests without the attendant risks of theft or contamination.

By placing a limited number of Max-eBar electronic bars in strategic locations throughout the hotel, guests have ready access to drinks, snacks and toiletries using Max-eBar software, an extension of the best-selling EPnet system. Payment is made by swiping the room cards through the reader and the transaction is automatically reported to the PMS at front desk and added to the guest’s room bill for payment on departure. Where required, Max-eBar can be programmed to only accept payment in advance.
