EPnet equipment

All equipment supplied by Quintus Systems is built to high quality standards.
Quintus manufacture most of the hardware in-house with the EPoS terminal being the exception as the only complete terminal bought in. Quintus Systems use Panasonic EPoS terminals for their quiet operation, reliability, small footprint and durability.

LOADERS AND ACCOUNT SERVICE POINTS

EPnet EP7100 QubeLoader
The EP7100 QubeLoader is a simple way for staff to credit their account. It is specifically manufactured to take cash payment by coins and notes and to add this to the user’s account. It works very much like a bank cash machine - only in reverse. With the loader, you simply present your card and load coins and notes into it. The bright fluorescent read-out verifies the opening balance, the amount inserted and the closing balance. Units can be sited at a central point or situated around the building at convenient locations. It will accept £5, £10 and £20 notes and coins from 20p to £2. For practical reasons, however, a lower limit of £1 coins is recommended. €5, €10 and €20 notes are also accepted in the standard dual currency version, although most major currencies can be programmed, if required.

The unit is made from solid steel, is very small (a 1 foot cube) and is fitted with two separate locks for added security.

EPnet EP7110 Account Service Point
The touch screen version of the loader enables additional functions to be made available to the user through the large touchscreen display. The Account Service Point is, therefore, a combined money loader and information point. In addition to the money loading features described for the QubeLoader the Account Service Point enables the user to make account enquiries, to see their account balance and recent transaction history.

This terminal is also recommended on sites where the user account can be more complex with, not just a standard account balance, but also Salary Sacrifice entitlements, free vends and payroll linkage. The large touchscreen enables more information to be clearly available to the user.

EPnet EP7120 Account Service Point with Guest Account Refund
The EP7120 provides the same features as the EP7110 with the additional benefit of a refund option for Guest cards. This caters for visitors, temporary staff and contractors who need access to refreshments in the building on a temporary or occasional basis. They are issued with a card from the usual administrative source. The card is used to load cash at any of the loaders available. Upon departure, the EP7120 can be used to obtain a refund on the unspent balance of the account simply by presenting the card to the machine. The remaining balance is refunded in cash and the card is handed in at the admin point.

EPnet EP7130 Account Service Point with Guest Card issue/Account Refund
Taking the EP7120 one step further, the EP7130 provides a complete, automated Guest Card system on sites where the Guest Cards are not issued from an admin point.

In addition to the EP7120 features the EP7130 can dispense a Guest Card and recover Guest cards. Upon payment of a deposit, the machine will dispense a Guest Card and create an account for the user automatically. Upon departure, the machine retains the card and a refund of the unspent balance is paid out. The refund may include any deposit paid for the card when dispensed

EPnet EP3000 VENDING TERMINAL

The EP3000 Vending Terminal is used to integrate vending machines and beverage dispensers into the EPnet Cashless system. Users simply present their card to the reader, which recognises the account immediately and displays the account balance. Purchases may be made from the vendor, with the cost being automatically and immediately charged directly from the user’s account. The display gives clear details and instructions at every step of the transaction.

With larger, freestanding vending machines, the reader is fitted internally, the controller being fixed to the coin mechanism mountings inside the machine. For smaller machines, the EP3000 can be fitted on the front or side of the machine or, alternatively, sited in a side pod.

The units are automatically programmed by the PC and do not need manual adjustment. Price changes can be made remotely from a central location without attending to each machine individually. All sales data is automatically downloaded at each transaction to the server to ensure live reports are available from the manager’s workstation at all times

The EPnet EP790 EPoS terminal represents the very latest state-of-the-art touch screen technology. The Panasonic unit, which is sturdy, yet neat and aesthetic, has inbuilt power supply and internal customer display to ensure a small footprint. A selection of USB ports for connecting to a variety of different peripherals, including remote customer displays, printers, cash drawers, weighing scales and bar code scanners is standard. The EPnet EP790 is fully integrated into the EPnet cashless catering and vending system. All programming is undertaken from a remote central PC at the manager’s workstation. All sales reports and data analysis are also processed via the integrated network and made available at the manager’s workstation.

WEB LOADING

Web Loading requires no additional equipment and can be carried out from any web-enabled PC be that at home, work or even an Internet Café. With no need to go to a specific machine or queue, EPnet Web Loading is a highly flexible and convenient option. Each member of staff has a user name and password which are used to log onto the payment section of the Quintus Systems website. Using a credit or debit card, the screen prompts the user through the transaction and the funds are automatically transferred to the EPnet account in real-time ensuring the account is immediately loaded.

The website is able to pre-register a preferred credit card or can be set up to make automatic loads when a preset lower limit is reached.

Quintus Systems provides this service through Pay 24/7 using their secure method of transfer by making use of Public Key Infrastructure, Digital Certificates and 1024 bit and 128 bit key length for asymmetric and symmetric encryption respectively, ensuring the strongest level of security by any online payment collection provider.

SALARY SACRIFICE

Salary Sacrifice is a legal, tax efficient scheme whereby employees forego part of their salary in return for a benefit in kind such as restaurant facilities. A suitably accountable cashless payment system (such as EPnet Cashless) can be used to provide this scheme for staff catering.

Salary Sacrifice has benefits for the employee and also for the employer. The money spent on food in the workplace will usually be paid for out of taxed income. Under Salary Sacrifice, this expenditure attracts NO Income Tax, NO National Insurance contributions and NO VAT. The benefits for the employer can be quite substantial with thousands of pounds in savings possible on employer National Insurance contributions and VAT.

Crucial in setting up a Salary Sacrifice scheme is the ability to administer such a scheme with great accuracy and total accountability, leaving a detailed audit trail of contributions and expenditure. By adding a Salary Sacrifice software module to the EPnet Cashless system, thousands of pounds will be saved for employer and employees alike
