Max-eBar in hotels

Max-eBar is a simple and cost effective alternative to in-room bars in hotels. Max-eBar is an electronic bar conveniently situated in public areas of the hotel for guests to serve themselves drinks, snacks and toiletries using their room card to make the transaction. The software operates in credit mode with guests paying for their purchases upon departure. EPnet software is also used to integrate payment in hotel bars and restaurants, once again adding the purchases to the guest’s account. Where required, Max-eBar can be programmed to only accept payment in advance.

Max-eBar
Hoteliers will recognise the added value opportunities offered by selling alcohol and other convenience products through the in-room bar. They will also be all too familiar with the drawbacks, such as high capital investment, labour intensivity and pilferage. Now, Max-eBar offers a low investment, totally secure way to sell alcohol and sundries to guests without the attendant risks of theft or contamination.

By placing a limited number of Max-eBar in strategic locations throughout the hotel, guests have ready access to drinks, snacks and toiletries using Max-eBar software, an extension of the best selling EPnet software system. They pay by swiping their room cards through the reader and the transaction is automatically reported to the hotel’s Property Management System (PMS) at the front desk and added to the guest’s room bill for payment on departure.

Bar and restaurant areas
Max-eBar may be complemented with a sophisticated hotel version of EPnet Cashless, enabling the guest to pay throughout the hotel, in bars and restaurants. Obviously, this does not preclude cash, cheque or credit card payment. Again, transactions are reported in real time to the hotel’s PMS system for guest payment upon departure.

Guests tender their room key to pay for food and drink in bars and restaurants. The charge is added to their bill and, if required, a receipt is produced. EPnet uses the latest touch till technology with full operator and table tracking. Sub menus and food order modifiers are available in the restaurant for providing meal options and cooking instructions to the kitchen printers. Bills can be transferred online between bar and restaurant for the guests’ convenience.

Business centres
Business centres are becoming very popular in hotels, but it is difficult to arrange for payment without constant supervision by staff. EPnet software may be used to charge the guest’s room account for use of, for example, photocopier, fax and internet PC.

Leisure & fitness suites
Access to these facilities may now be charged for, as well as restricting their use to guests and pre-paying non-residents

Car Park
EPnet allows the hotel to control car park barriers and so charge guests for the use of the car park.
