Wherever there is payment to be made in a closed environment such as offices or hotels, there is scope to use EPnet. EPnet streamlines payment by integrating all the points of payment and laying a full audit trail. Below is a selection of EPnet hardware available, which may be integrated to form the basis of your own individulised cashless payment structure.

EPos Terminals
EPnet features state-of-the-art colour touch screen tills. These are pre-programmed with your menu or bar tariff for quick service. The operator keys in details of the sale, then read the customer's ID device. Prices and menus are changed centrally, on-line. The till gives detailed information on opening balance; transaction listing; total transaction charge; overspend warning and closing balance. If required, a printed receipt can be generated.

Vending Machines
The need for exact change has often made vending machines an unacceptable solution. Vending is now made simple by debiting or crediting purchases using EPnet - no change needed! Vending is now also a reality for hotels, where purchases using EPnet are added to the client's bill. Vending machines give details of opening balance, item purchased, price and closing balance.

Business Equipment
EPnet is not just about electronic tills or vending machines. Other equipment can be fitted with a reader and networked into the system. Use of faxes, photocopiers, telephones, computers and almost any other piece of business equipment, which need to be charged for, can be monitored and cross-charged to different departments, enabling management to control budgets more effectively. EPnet is also ideal for use in hotels, which are increasingly, providing office suites for guest use.

Door Access
In offices, the security card can be used to pay for goods and services at tills and vending machines throughout the complex. In hotels, the room card key can also double as a charge card for making purchases in the hotel bar or through vending machines.

Loaders
Some offices feel confident to banish cash totally from their premises, by debiting purchases from salary. In this environment, visitors are easily catered for with a "hospitality card". As an alternative, strategically located money loaders enable staff to credit their account with cash. Money loaders can be set to accept only higher denomination coins and notes, thus simplifying cash handling and saving time on cash counting and banking costs.

Payroll Interface
With EPnet, no cash is held on the card, so a true credit account is possible. By adding a Payroll Interface, staff are able to charge their purchases to a credit account. Each transaction adds to the credit balance and, at the end of the accounting period (e.g. week or month), the account balance is sent to payroll and debited from the staff member's payslip. The account balance is then set to zero for the following period.

Use of a Payroll Interface gives a clear and accurate balance every time the card is used, which is not possible with "smart card" systems and avoids staff needing to "top up" cards or even replenish their account using a credit loader.

Refund Terminal
To simplify refunding money to visitors and temporary staff, a refund terminal can be used. When the card is presented, the outstanding balance is shown, refunded in cash and the card balance is then zero-ed.

Account Information Point
Allows users to review card history, print mini statements and make transfers from bank debit/credit cards to their EPnet account.
